EDR7106 - Advanced Quantitative Design and Measurement

Semester Credits: 3 Weeks: 12
Doctoral students will gain an in-depth knowledge of quantitative research design and measurement. A detailed understanding of the unique elements of developing a quantitative research study, with particular emphasis on problem, purpose, research question, and hypothesis development and alignment will be presented. This course approaches the topic of quantitative research design from both abstract and practical perspectives, encouraging students to become competent creators of consumers of quantitative research by exploring how quantitative information is generated, evaluated, summarized, and represented. A series of assignments will be presented involving various critical aspects of quantitative research design and measurement, leading to the development of a “mock” quantitative research proposal as the signature assignment.
