SWR-465 - Social Work with Families

Semester Credits: 3 Weeks: 8

This course builds on and integrates the inclusive definition of family and introduction to family concepts presented in HBSE I with the model for working with families presented in Generalist Practice I. Family structure, communication patterns, and coping behavior will be studied from multiple family theoretical perspectives. Evidence-based models of assessment and intervention with families will be presented. The family will also be considered as it functions in larger social systems. Policy and advocacy work related to families will also be discussed.
