FIN-7014 - Managing Financial Institutions

This course examines the advanced components of financial institutions with an emphasis on topics in relation to academic research. The course includes an examination of advanced content as well as relevant academic papers. You are required to develop in-depth papers on the primary academic topics within financial institutions. Moreover, you will review and assess relevant academic papers to be better prepared to write papers within this area of finance. The course begins with an analysis of the global financial system and financial institutions. It continues with an examination of financial statements for financial institutions. It provides a careful examination of interest rate and credit risks as well as the course studies derivative securities utilized by financial institutions.
