SWR-395 - Generalist Practice & Mental Health

Semester Credits: 3 Weeks: 8

This course introduces students to the knowledge, values, and skills necessary for generalist social work practice in mental health settings. It provides introductory knowledge of assessment based on criteria in the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Evidence-informed treatment for people will mental health diagnoses, and practice evaluation will be explored with an emphasis on the role of the social worker alone and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
