This second course in the Human Behavior & the Social Environment series focuses on human behavior and development from a mezzo and macro perspective. Students learn theories relevant to groups, organizations, and communities with special attention to groups that are marginalized and oppressed. It explores ways in which the social, cultural, economic, and political systems promote or hamper individual achievement and maintenance of well-being throughout the life cycle. Issues of outcome evaluation and ethical practice in groups, organizations, and communities will also be considered.
