PSY-8341 - Positive Aging

Semester Credits: 3 Weeks: 8

Students will evaluate the concepts and theories of healthy aging, an integral aspect of gerontology.  Evaluating research focused on healthy aging will reduce any ageist bias and increase your advocacy of older adult health and care. Students are embarking on an exciting journey evaluating the role of diversity and culture on healthy aging and the components of quality of life and social relationships.  During this course, students will explore a myriad of healthy aging concepts including appraising dietary and nutrition research, the role of socialization and relationship as well as diversity in positive aging.
