LAW-710 - Trial Advocacy

Semester Credits: 3 Weeks: 10

This course engages students in practical exercises designed to develop written and oral advocacy skills. Each student will participate in one or more oral advocacy exercises each week. These exercises will cover advocacy skills for pre-trial motions, jury selection, opening statements, presentation of documentary and testimonial evidence, and closing arguments. Students will employ the rules of evidence necessary to successfully bring and defend pre-trial motions, to raise and respond to objections at trial, and to conduct other stages of a jury trial in an online courtroom before a judge.
