LAW-720 - Remedies

Semester Credits: 3 Weeks: 16

This course covers the remedies available to successful litigants, including money damages, injunctive relief, restitution and more. We will look at these remedies within a broad variety of subjects, including traditional common law causes of action in contract, tort and property as well as in family law, civil rights and constitutional law. Attention is paid to how the available remedies shape both the underlying substantive law and the parties’ litigation strategies. We will, of course, also examine defenses available against different types of remedies.
